What'd they stuff in the engine bay, a RR Spey with AB?
I honestly do not know what was meant to be used. So far as I know there were never any prototypes made
Beautiful effort - this based on a Corsair sir?
I believe both aircraft used parts. The corsair being the smaller version of the F8 Crusader
Ah - never knew - good work as always - detail is excellent, love the logos
The YA-7F Strikefighter Corsair was an interesting bastard because they took an A-7 Corsair, based on a shortened, subsonic version of the F-8 Crusader frame, and lengthened it and stuck in a much more powerful engine (a Pratt & Whitney F100 afterburning turbofan). The result was, essentially, a redeveloped F-8 Crusader.
God the corsair and crusader were sexy planes. Its that chin scoop.
Tell me, have you ever heard of Sentinel Chicken? He does lots of aircraft profiles but I don't think he's on DA.
No I cannot say the name rings a bell. He might be here under another name though. I have several artists that I watch who make great profiles like these.
Oh man, I love the Crusader, such an underrated jet. The only thing I was never fond of on it was the wing assembly, how it tilted before take-off. Always thought that was a bit quirky and odd, but I suppose it makes it more loveable too.
You do plane designing commissions?
The Last of the Gunfighters!
The F-8 is one sexy jet and you made the dual seater look downright awesome.
