Question: is that lighting 3 spots in PS or VL in mB3D...I'm thinking 3 Spotlights in PS otherwise the VL would be dispersed all over hell and gone after hitting the 1st object...I like your work Hal always make me think how he do that...
Yes, it's done in Photoshop, but not with spot lights. I actually never thought about using those. I made them by hand, selecting a cone shape with the wand tool, and then filling with white with a 35% opacity. Then I used the eraser tool to blend and fade the edges of the spotlights. Then I used the Flaming Pear Melancholytron filter to darken all around the edges because the image was too light and the spots didn't look as natural as I thought they should. I've only gotten a good spotlight effect a few times with VL in Mandelbulb 3d when I could stick a positional light in a proper hole somewhere. Didn't have that in this image, but if I had, I would have to have done it in three renders and combined them. Thanks Len!
