more Copic-experiments :P

fanart of Odin-Spere;
I've been seriously wondering what their name actually means :roll:
in the Japanese, they are called "Shinigamis" (which definetly fits :P) and in the German version, they are called "Sensenschwinger" (= Scythe Swinger);
but hell, what kind of sense does "Halja" make???

Update: was told that "Halja" is a different form of "Hel", the Godess of the Dead in Norse Mythology
- thanks to :iconxeranad:

one of the coolest designs of the whole game, nevertheless - not much that beats a muscle-packed reaper, doesn't it? ;P

btw. I really enjoy the voice-acting, too;
especially Ingway, King Valentine and Gallon are awesome :D
Oswald and Onyx are cool, too :P
check this video for some examples (be aware of spoilers, though):

(youtube-quality is horrible, but nothing better to link to...)

sadly, I never got my hands on it since I don't own a Wii (and I don't think I ever will own one, so I'll just watch a playthrough on Youtube someday, I guess)
at some point, I want to get Grim Grimoire, the old game that is still for PS2, though

"Halja" is another version of "Hel", who, in Norse Mythology, was the goddess of the dead. So the name makes perfect sense for the servants of Queen Odette of the Netherworld.

Regardless, nice piece.

woah, that's a tough one...
without spending the whole afternoon for remembering all great stories I played, I'd name the following (without a specific order):
-Odin Sphere
-The World Ends With You
-Vagrant Story (quite old for PSOne :P)
-Pandora Hearts (anime)
-Angel Sanctuary (manga)

if I think too much about that, the list might probably fill books :P

Haha!! Awsm! Those are not the typical top 5 that people respond with, but that's very cool. I didn't give The World Ends With You a fair shot because I didn't enjoy the gameplay -- but if you say the story is good, maybe I'll reconsider. ;)

the gameplay sure was something to get used to...
SquareEnix didn't have the best idea of the world by using both screens for the fighting system...
mainly, I got it because the grafic-style really got me hooked and after getting over some critical first impressions, I really enjoyed both the game and the story :D
