I'm delighted to see more Spelunky comics! And this is a viable strategy, though I usually prefer to lure Terry off a cliff or something to be sure that a shotgun pellet won't interrupt my looting of his deserted shop.
Look, if he wanted me to buy stuff legitimately, he'd make the prices affordable. $30,000 for a kiss... *grumble grumble*

If I'm really determined to steal something, I only ever grab the one thing I wanted most and split. If I lure him out of the shop, the chances are too high of him either a) shooting me, or b) getting killed somehow, and one-item thefts are not worth shoppies at the exits for the entire rest of the game. o.O

Oh, I agree. I was actually thinking of multi-item thefts. Robbing the clothes shop is my favourite, you can often carry all four items the shopkeeper has in stock at the same time, plus the shotgun if you can get hold of it.

I think it's a problem with dA, actually. It won't show a picture I'm loading unless I full-size it the moment the page opens. Hopefully they'll fix it soon!
