1-4 Look Before You LEAP! by halibabica 1-4 Look Before You LEAP! by halibabica
Hero's approach to snake disposal may be a bit overkill, but there's something to be said for efficiency, right?

...right?

There is no overkill when it comes to snakes.

Also, I'm reading this on my phone and the picture's small. What are the two red items? Apples?

Rubies.  Precious gemstones...

Ah. Light, small treasure, more worth carrying than the idol, no?

Fist-sized rubies, I believe.

I'll buy them for $1600 apiece.

I wasn't aware you started another webcomic Eli. Neat.

And the pickaxe way convenient. Is that the premise?

It is very convenient, but it's also true to the original game.  If you bomb the floor of any snake pit, you'll always find a pickaxe there. :3

It's like that in the game. Although if you don't know you're supposed to bomb under the snake pit, you'll miss it. Stumbling across it by accident (as happens here) is unusual - snakes are easy and bombs are rare, so there's little reason to use the latter to kill the former.

For reasons too complex to describe, you've just been spared a dumb snake pun.

Sometimes the obvious route isn't best because it's obvious. ;P

Snakes, I seen many of them but I never had any problem with them outside the occasional mishap.  Arrow traps though are very dangerous, my first death was from them.  It wasn't until it was too late I found they don't go straight forward.

They're the Goombas of Spelunky. The worst they'll ever do is jump out of a vase.

I think Indiana Jones would aprove of his snake disposal :)

I love how concerned Damsel is, it may be largely self centered since this guy is her way out, but I think she actully cares.

They barely know each other this early, so it's probably 50-50.

60-40.

...70-30. ;3

You can always identify platformer heroes by their ability to jump twice their height and their headstomp-based fighting style.
