Description
WIP Sea-Dragon part the third. I think I'm closer to a final version. Still not happy with the hands, so I've been dling otter-anatomy resources. Hrmmn...
A thought on gender: Creature has the male/female division, however like a dolphin and other sea going creatures, it is hidden.
First Version: [link]
Second Version: [link]
~~~
The hands and arms I'm still toying with as well. The hands I'm looking into otter-like hands now, as my squid-like fingers just didn't fit the general look and feel of the creature. The arms, double jointed, can fold up into the skin folds that are attached to the elbows, when not in use. This will give the over all body a more stream lined design when swimming out in open water or at high speeds.
~~
(copied from previous attempt)
Intent: Taking various organic, realistic animal-like parts, trying to keep in mind basic physics for a water-going creature while yet adding non-water-creature parts to it. I want to try and keep it slinky, and snake-like without loosing the whale-like or dragon-like aspects to it either.
This is a WIP and Critiques, suggestions, redlines, and commentary are very welcome and will be accepted for serious consideration.
For
members or General Audience Critique
What I'm looking for are:
> Suggestions on the general anatomy of the arms, chest, and rear tail, angle of the curves and their forward-facing surfaces.
> Suggestions on the hands and flippers to make them seem more realistic.
> Overall thoughts on the piece for organic/realism feel.
>Suggestions for ink/color (I may try this in water color, but it's a weak point).
