Instructions:

Please avoid a manual install and use the GNOME Tweak Tool, it's much easier.

You can use the gnome-shell theme extension for easier switching of themes.

GNOME Tweak Tool

Make sure you have user-theme-extension installed. Load the GNOME Tweak Tool and go to Shell Extensions and click the "Use Theme Extension" switch. Now go to "Theme" and click the Shell Theme box and locate your theme zip. Now you can select the theme in the dropdown box.

Ambiance Version and this version don't work in Gnome 3.10, graphic artifacts. To Gnome 3.10 everything normally worked. The author, please fix a theme for Gnome 3.10 and classical Gnome 3.10.

what about gnome shell 3.6? does this theme work fine with that version?

I don't know because I don't use GNOME any more, probably breakage somewhere knowing how GNOME work.

ok, i'll try then. i'll eventually make some changes to make it work fine on 3.6

im new to linux and i m not sure how all the features work yet but is this compatible with fedora 17 ?

I think it comes with GNOME-Shell 3.4 so you should be OK for compatibility.

I like this Gnome shell. Is it for Linux systems or will it work on windows? I have XP Pro. I think it would look cool on XP

Not unless someone makes a shell version for Windows but I don't see the point.

Great Theme. But on my netbook with 1366x768 resolution it rather appears ugly & big. How can i reduce the button & icon size of the the theme?
half-left's avatar
I made a theme that was designed for smaller resolutions. It all has to be done via the gnome-shell.css.

Ok I will look into it. Thanks.

Hey man, this is a pretty cool theme. Do you know where i can find the documentation needed to make one myself?
half-left's avatar
Not sure to be honest, I just learned it myself from the gnome-shell.css.

Any chance for a version of this theme in Arch?

Ask the packagers, they usually do package my themes from what I've seen.
