Enchantment Gone Wrong: An Apprentices's Tale

Text Begins:
The dusty library was a bastion of silence, the only sound the occasional rustle of a page turning. The fading afternoon light cast a warm glow on the ancient tomes and scrolls that lined the towering shelves. In the center of the vast room, a young woman sat hunched over a large, worn-out grimoire, her eyes darting across the arcane script with feverish excitement.
Her name was Abby, and she was the most devoted apprentice the Sorcerer had ever known. She was a slim girl but her slight stature did not interfere with her dedication to mastering the arcane arts. She would spend uncounted hours in the library, surrounded by the musky scent of aged parchment and the faint whispers of forgotten incantations.
Her attire was as practical as it was peculiar for a mage-in-training: a loose flowing knee-length skirt, a buttoned blouse, and a pair of sensible heels that clicked rhythmically against the cold stone floor.
