(sending it through here since the note function is retarded)
I decided to give that guide you shared a try. Since the thought of using outdated binaries started to bother me a little. It went well through the mpd bit, and I got to install everything nice (with some little struggles here and there, mainly due to lack of focus, etc).
I'm just stuck on the ncmpcpp part, specifically on its make process.
Apparently, the website hints on a couple of errors, yet I'm still stuck on one of them.
Of course, the guide uses some outdated packages (like both the mpd and ncmpcpp binaries, 0.19.10 and 0.6.5 respectively) and all I did was download the newer binaries.
Only thing I didn't download was ffmpeg, since it look tad bit confusing for me and it's not a necesssary package to run ncmpcpp AFAIK.
As expected, the error mentioned in the guide shows up during the make process on the ncmpcpp part.
The supposed solution is to add a couple of lines on the status.cpp, so I just did that through nano since vi is too complicated.
Other than that, it's the structure of the Makefile file. What is confusing though, it's that there are already a -lreadline command on the Makefile structure, also, it has two of them! So I just remove one and leave it at there. Yet, it still crashes. I tried editing status.cpp before the ./configure and it's the same thing....
I'm running out of options, so I turned on you for help, since you shared the guide and said something about how you were on a problem and solved it with the guide's help, etc.
