I'm happy with what I have and can't ask for more, but if I could.. theeeeeeen... well, a place to set up a studio for my photos would be nice! With lamps and reflectors, and tripods, and my own pc with a tablet, and a big screen so I can work easier on my projects. The new Nikon D90 body would be nice. And of course, photoshop cs4 (I have been reading reviews a day now and I'm pretty excited =p)

Well, I could use a Cintiq or at least an Intuos... and a 24" Monitor (with an automatic calibrator that works under Linux)... a SpacePilot would be a nice AddOn as well... to the QuadCore computer with a huge gfx card I want. And a new full-frame camera... or two to switch between 35mm and medium format... with several lenses of course. And of course a well equipted studio. But I guess the best thing would be loads of money, so I don't need to work anymore and can finally get more time to work on art and won't have to waste my inspiration :D .

I want to move out into a bigger apartment, where I have enough room to keep all the things I own, for one thing!

In a fantasy world, I'd want a little trapdoor in the ceiling of my bedroom with a wooden ladder coming down from it that I can climb up into a little air-conditioned studio space, with a desk and a window, and boxes and boxes of copic markers and prismacolor pencils~ One of those tablets where you can draw straight onto the screen would be totally awesome, too!

More than anything I just need a room I can use only for making art. Living in a one-room apartment like I am now makes it very hard for me to focus and I've barely created anything since I moved out on my own almost two years ago :(

huge manga studio with the biggest ever manga collection and all the art supplies! :D
i want to have a huge work desk in the middle of the room and a couch somewhere in front with a table for my writer (or for my lazy ass ^^). on the walls, where there wouldn't be manga, i would put my and other people works. of course, there would be a lot of other stuff, but mainly this is it. ^^

kind of like in bakuman, but with a few changes. ;)

..ah. Make it just any manga studio, and for the stores in my country to actually have any of the supplies i need for drawing manga. ^^

I'd just want my own studio, honestly. I hate having to work in my bedroom. :XD: it's nice that I have a TV in here though.

I want lots of things. I'm in love with far too many art genres. I could have some crazy huge art space full of everything, which would make me happy, but what I'm really craving right now is a giant 2 or three sided desk where I can put all my books and work materials out on, another monitor and/or desktop, and a new laptop. then I think my writing would be rather a bit easier. All of that wonderful, glorious deskspace!

I want a camera with more memory. My current camera is old, and so it can only hold 17 good quality pictures. Every film clip takes up the space of three pictures, too.

Memory cards have evolved beyond my camera by now  It's got a slot, but it's too outdated to be compatible.

Linux works with pentacles and chains, and small flowers opening slowly. It slowly spreads into the mind, like a coffee-stain on an emergency-room operating table. And once it has taken root, it lives within you like a giraffe in your mind. Embrace the source, for without it you can never truly known what it was to be sane. :giggle:

I'll look forward to the nice-ankled models :D :D

Happy Solstice!

I would like...

1. A real desk.

I don't actually have one, nor is there room for one in my tiny bedroom. I do the majority of "desk work" on a drawing board sitting in my bed or on my floor chair that's in front of my desk... totally inappropriate, say my teachers... then again, they don't complain about the results :P

2. A semi-professional camera.

I like photo-taking... and the point and shoot is nice, because it has manual settings, but I don't even have a tripod, and so yeah... semi-professional camera, tripod. Mmmm....

3. Lightboxes rock my socks.

So yes. Those things, or even one of them would make me a happy camper. :P

Heh, I just got myself a new computer. A Core i7 920, GeForce GTX 260 with 3GB DDR3 Ram.

Ahh nothing like the feel of legacy software running on new hardware. Why pay money for new versions when all they do is start up and run slower. I'm sticking to my photoshop 7 until the the oh so rumored GPU acceleration support comes out.

I guess all that's on my wishlist now is some magical item that autmatically increased my drawing skill :(.

Also what's the deal with the mac. Seems everyone here is talking about this..."Macbook pro"

Heehee, yay! New computer! ^_^

Pfft. I would think everyone would want to increase their drawing skill.

And uh... I dunno. I have a Macbook Pro laptop and a PC desktop, and I prefer PC's. But I guess a lot of people here like Macs. :)

MOVING OUTTA THE HOUSE INTO A LOFT! I can stick all my artbook/dvd/music collection on a whole wall of shelves and tape up all my movoie posters.

*luciole already gave me her old macbook pro, so what I'll need next is a 12 or 21 inch CINTIQ. I thought about getting another monitor but considering deskspace, nuuu.

I need a fancy gizmo toy I can abuse over and over and over. Then again I'm waiting for Wacom to come up with a new generation of CINTIQ that uses bluetooth, I'm not crazy about all those wires.

But I guess I could still put my 4x6 intuos3 to good use on the mac. I'm getting sick of using the Bamboo Fun on the PC.

I've got a 32 inch SHARP Aquos LCD tv I won from a film festival, need to figure out a way to hook it up to either one of the comps. That way I can have a huge screen of references and just whittle things away on another monitor.

Beside me I'll set up a drafting/animating table with an electonic keyboard/mixer board whenever I got the urge to noodle away a tune for a soundtrack that will never see the light of day. I hate digging through overproduced royalty-free music and jumping through hoops to contact musicians.

And maybe in a corner somewhere, a nice big easel where I can whip up some acrylic and gouache paintings for fun.

I played with the 21 inch model at Siggraph a couple years ago, it was a lot of fun. Sort of amazing losing the disconnect between your tablet and your screen. I hope I can afford it someday :)

I wish I had Zbrush, Autodesk Maya, Photoshop CS4 and a new computer for 3D modeling and animation, but all of those things are way too expensive, even by themselves. Autodesk Maya Complete costs $2000 and the Unlimited version is $5000, which is probably more than five times what I payed for my computer! It would also be nice to have dual monitors since things get pretty cluttered on one screen and I could use the extra space. :)

Of course this is all a dream for me because there is no way I can afford any of those things, plus I am still learning 3D animation and I won't need professional software until many years from now.

I would love to learn to use Zbrush and Maya. I downloaded the free learning version of Maya, but I haven't really had time to play with it much yet.

This going all out, holding nothing back, was going to get save for it but had to get a new car instead:

Mac Book Black with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 13.3 display + Super Drive, a 250 GB/5400 rpm hard drive, 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM

Fully loaded with Adobe Creative Suite 3.3, standard edition, AirPort Express Base Station with 802.11n and AirTunes, plus AirPort Extreme Base Station with Gigabit Ethernet, and MircoSoft Office.

Total Price (because my sister is in education): $2,111.95

And I know there are bigger, newer, Mac laptops out there, but I want it for print design and don't need all the extras.

I continue to dream. -.-

I would die for a "dip pen" that you would not actually need to dip. This would allow me to make lines of various thicknesses while outdoors, without needing to mess around with a little bottle of ink that can be spilled. So a pen with refillable barrel, preferably allowing me to fill it with indian ink or some other lightfast waterproof durable ink...

The only reason I don't have one yet is I think they don't exist :-) I'm using a Pentel Tradio at the moment which, granted, comes close. Pity the ink is not waterproof. I am hoping at least the ink is lightfast (guess we'll see in 30 years).

Guess I am in the wrong thread, every one else seems to want a Cyntiq ;-)

I think a Cintiq sounds really cool, but I'd actually prefer an Intuos. But that's just me. :p

Id love to have my own studio with great lights and all amazing backgrounds, I'd love to have a better cam, like the new canon cams. and all sorts of macro lenses. and Id love to have an even bigger accesoires boxes, with all sorts of stuff in there ;).

very wishful thinking, but if i had all that i wouldn^t depend on photographers so much, which can be quite annoying. especially if the ones you wanna work with dont wanna work with you =/

(I'm a writer. I've also thought about this a lot. :blushes:)

I'd like a state-of-the-art Mac, with the newest versions of MS Word, Pages, and Quark Express, high-speed digital internet, and all the music I could ever listen to. I'd like my desk to be wood, have deep drawers with organizers, and have enough space to spread papers and photos everywhere.

The desk would be in a large, airy room done in wood tones and old furniture, with bookshelves lining every wall and with books and papers spilling everywhere. The rest of the house would be similarly furnished and have a very homey feel. Despite its rustic charm, it would have no structural defects, good insulation and heating, and a working kitchen with an electric stove. The house would also have a generator, because it would be at the edge of an isolated British Columbian town bordering the Pacific and I'd never want to be out of power. I'd have a view of the ocean through the rainforest from my study window.

I also wouldn't need to work. I could just sit and write all day and my bills would be paid for me.
