A more polished piece this time since my last two devs were pretty sketchy. Just an excuse to design a costume. Added the background because it looked boring without one. And thankfully, I've calmed down a bit after the initial euphoria with brushes. The novelty's worn off. LOL.

Anatolia's just some random character I made up. Yeah, she's wandering around at dawn with a key in hand. Yeah, she's got blue hair.

I'm pretty happy with the way this one came out. Done the usual way. Sketched and colored on Photoshop. No references. I have no idea how long this one took. The dress took about 8 hours, I think, and I totally lost track of the time after that.

The dress is beautiful. And I love the background, too. You have amazing talent. I love pics like this where you can just add a story with all that's going on, and at the same time it looks really peaceful.:)

Nice costume design, but I'm glad you added the background it really makes the picture. So serene and yet strong looking a scene.
NekoOni Featured By Owner Sep 25, 2004
Wow, she's beautiful. Your faces keep getting more detailed and realistic with every entry. Not to mention the rest of the piece.

It reminds me of Hero, the movie. I think it's because of the large scale, and the tin figure... Uh, anyway... XD

so very nice ^_^ but i think u couldve lowered the horizont line.. even to forsake a bit on composition.. right now the lines dont do it for me!

thanks and bye :blowkiss:
hakubaikou Featured By Owner Aug 22, 2004
Do you mean lower the mountains? Or lower the angle of the camera (if this were a film)? I'm guessing the latter? In any case, yeah, perspective and buildings are something I've always had a tough time with. One of these days though... one of these days I'll hopefully draw something that does do it for you. :D In the meantime, more practice for me. Woohoo!
ukitakumuki Featured By Owner Aug 23, 2004  Professional Digital Artist
Yes, the latter :) The perspective isn't Wrong Wrong... but not befitting that of such a composition imo... something like that can be taken with the subject more into the piece (talkin in terms of photography here)

Now she feels so lost! And the left side is so off weighted etc.

The entire feel of this picture is so full of life. It's near magical how you chose shades that compliment each other so well and leave a feeling of such. Very nice job and I like the look.

Lovely work, good change of style. The background is well-shaded, and you've put a beautiful woman in the image. Her clothing is designed so well, and certain little touches I like on the figure like the effects on her hair are really nice. :-)

This piece is absolutely lovely. The dress is gorgeous, and it's great that you decided to add a background because "it looked boring without one" as the background is beyond beautiful. I particularly love the dragon hanging, and the way you included the tiny detail of the small rips near the bottom. The simplicity of the dragon design really appeals to me. I also really love the way you've done her hair -- it looks so realisitic drifting in the wind. It's neat how you've hidden your name in the step on the temple, as well as signing the bottom of the image, by the way. I think your color choice is wonderful and creates a great overall tone. I love the texture you put into the flooring.

Stunning work, I am in awe, and very envious of your talent.
