I saw your journal about this device, and I was curious as to how much graphics RAM it has. As in, the RAM built into the graphics card. XD my desktop has 1GB.

Nice concept. I get the direction you are going. I think the chiclet style keys are cool looking in the drawing but I think a more functional item would be a cap sense or resistive touch E-ink screen. With the E-ink you could have a much more functional space to work with. Instead of having the user memorize what they left where you can visually represent what is where the monotone color might be a handicap but it's a heck of a lot more functional than standard keys. It also cleans up a lot better if you are snacking while you work. Finally it'll give you a thinner profile.

I work in electronics design and production. Send me a PM if you want to talk more.

Super rad!
May I ask what all the same keys are for?

I just didn't want to have to model all the letters

I'm guessing the numbers are for shortcuts, which is a really neat idea. This looks super compact, I love it so far!

When you say build, how do you mean?

Put together the hardware, solder the switches, design and put together the case. A little like a normal PC build but very small.

That's pretty impressive. How did you learn to tinker with electronics like that? That's a skill I'm interested in having too.

I broke things a lot and took them apart to see if I could fix them, usually I couldn't but it was good practice anyway.

Your design is a lot prettier than the little Raspberry Pi handheld devices I've been seeing :la:
Sounds like you're getting a better screen resolution on it too.

I was just too lazy to model letters for all the keys, it could be used for what ever you want though :aww:
