Ian is waiting outside Frankie's studio. The place is packed with all kinds of 'mons, ranging from aspiring Artisans to 'mons who just want their picture painted. Ian fits into both of these categories. The line floods out into in streets, intercepting the pedestrians who are walking to different places. If the line's this long, this Frankie person must be good. Either way, Ian does not appreciate having to wait in the summer's heat for the painting he desperately wants.
"I could've been done by now, if Faye didn't hold me up on cleaning that lab," pouts Ian. There were about fifty 'mons in front of him. "Heck, I could go do something else and this line wouldn't even miss me! In fact, that's what I'll do! I've seen some flyers around town about a play Topaz is holding. Maybe she'll let me help in production!"
"Do you always talk to yourself?" asks a bystander.
"Oh yeah, like you don't," retaliates Ian. He then leaves his spot in the line to go to the Great Tree in hopes of finding Topaz.

"This is it." Ian walks onto the partially finished set. The stage is littered with 'mons. Some are practicing their lines, while other are talking about various things. Ian isn't interested in acting though. He came here to help in set creation. Even so, the zorua grabs a costume and puts it on. Might as well look nice for his portrait, am I right?
The zorua goes backstage where there's many different paint buckets of a variety of colors. The dark type joins in by painting a wall. The only problem is that he's painting it the wrong color. Now Ian was standing on a ladder, slinging paint all over the board. The color drips down the wall, landing on Addy's paper that had part of someone's script written on it. The shiny emolga looks up to see Ian messing up the top of the set with his "art." The reporter calls up to him, telling the zorua to stop, but Ian is having to much fun to hear him. Addy, being to tired to fly up there, shakes the ladder to try and get Ian's attention. The vibrations cause the paint bucket to fall from the ladder, landing on Addy's head and sending paint everywhere! The set is now a gigantic mess and Addy has a bucket stuck on his head. Not to mention that the scripts he was working on are now ruined. Ian's currently laughing his tail off as Addy furiously pulls at the bucket that holds his head captive. He's not going to be happy when that comes off.
The Artisans that were close by are busy helping Addy, so Ian finds this a good time to flee. He's helped enough anyway. The zorua runs through the crowd of Artisans, accidentally bumping a few on the way out. Addy has now gotten the bucket off of his head, and boy does he want revenge. The painted covered emolga snatches a bucket off paint from a nearby painter and soars over the crowd of artists. He's now outside and can see Ian from a mile away with that goofy costume on. Ian was currently standing at the door of Frankie's studio, begging to get in for his picture. Hm... Let's spruce him up a bit shall we?
Addy glides to where he's just over the zorua. He then tips the bucket of paint all over him! To say the zorua was shocked doesn't even do him justice! His face was priceless! Addy would've snapped a picture if he could! The laughing emolga sticks his tongue out at Ian before going back to the set to redo his script. Frankie looks at Ian with a smile showing her amusement.
"Now that you mention it, I think I can give you a portrait just this once, even if you are late," chuckles Frankie as she leads the fox into her studio. "You know you'll have to return that costume, right?"
Ian just grunts in response.
Frankie finishes his portrait with relative ease. The bayleef hands the picture over. Ian's nose scrunches up in distaste. The picture looked nothing like he planned. He was covered in paint. The color of the paint clashed with the color of the costume he was wearing, causing a real strain on the eyes. His ears were flopped down and his muzzle was in a frown. The zorua thanks Frankie anyway and takes his failed portrait back home. The fox peeks around the corners of the house to make sure Faye wasn't home. He didn't want her seeing such a ruined painting! He settles on hiding it in a forlorn corner and covering it with a cloth.
"I don't want that painting to see the light of day ever again."
