What hail the new year?
What hellfire be rained upon us?
We enter into the new generation,
This one worst then the last.

What bring the new year?
What horrors shall we release upon ourselves?
We enter into a new age of sin,
This one worst then the last.

Drink in the good feelings,
They won't last long,
It's just another yesterday when tomorrow comes,
This time it's not temporary.

But then if I'm just white noise,
When will the words take effect?
When will the world take off its mask,
And reveal itself as the devil it may yet be.
This time proven to be permanent.

This whole time,
This whole celebration,
This whole new age,
Is all a load of lies,

Make a resolution,
Get too drunk to remember it,
Blow your confetti and smoking guns,
This new year it's bigger and better,
And breaks down two times as fast.

And when will it finally end?
When will people start to listen,
Before they follow blindly,
It's too bad it's too late,
It's too bad we're a broken race.

After all, we wouldn't want to poison anyone else,
Let's keep our drunken secrets for other drunken ears,
It's not going to be easy, but I will never buy into commercialism.

And what do I know?
At so young an age,
Let's scoff at the kid,
Who acts so highly,
But then what if he's right?

Nothing a good murder couldn't cure,
Hey, maybe two,
After all its the new year,
And it's time to instill new fear,

And if i speak this aloud,
Then it's all over,
But i'm not the doomed one,
And if i am, I have failed,
And if i am, I deserve it.

I will accept fate,
And will not disguise shame,
Or drunkenness,
Or lust,
With another celebration,
That's lost to the monstrous wind.
once again, you should know by now that my poems are not that cheery, so don't expect this one to be different, it is a new year poems, with my dreary outlook...and it is long, but bear with me here....

even without rhyming and other sound thingys it still flows great
i think and hope you agree that its about how reckless people are on the holidays and make asses of themselves and disgrace the sanctity of the holiday, and you absolutely capture me at "It's just another yesterday when tomorrow comes"
its ultimately fantastic

thank you, and that is what it is about, how holidays are so commercialized these days its not even about the celebration, or the reason, it's all about the party. And i disagree wholely with this aspect. You like that line? It was a kind of clever, i thought, but i don't usually like my own poems. Thank you.
