At least I don't go crazy,
On a full moonlit night.
At least I don't suck blood,
From a child's fright.

At least I don't scare villagers,
Completely to death.
At least I don't make people faint,
With my foul breath.

At least I'm not a monster,
That you see in the theatre.
At least I'm not a creature,
Who kills for pleasure.

At least I'm just human,
I'm not the worst.
At least I'm only normal,
I'm not a killer.

But at least can mean so much,
At least I don't make humans a feast,
But at least means at the minimum,
At the very, very least.

We can disguise things,
Like our hateful feelings,
When we compare using
The hated phrase, "At least..."

a poem i thought up the other night when i was thinking about the phrase: "At least I don't blah blah blah..." or "At least the tears won't last forever" or some such. But when you look deeply into that phrase, this is what you'll find:

First to comment, my applause, thank you, it is not uncommon for me to look into common sayings and see the true meanings. What you find can be pretty disgustingly selfish.
