Is it that the ink dries out to quickly? Sometimes that can make it blotchy and difficult to work with. I use an extender/retardant (they are the same thing just different names) to make the ink last longer once I've rolled it out. Your design is really intense, keep up the good work and i hope your future prints work better for you :)
