Vasquez: On course to K-7. Eta, 36 hours

Augie: Thank you

Vasquez: Problem ma’am?

Augie: Stupid skirt is making me self-conscious about how I sit. I keep thinking next time I talk to someone, I’m going to end up flashing them

Vasquez: May I remind you that if you had paid more attention when filling out the transfer paperwork, this wouldn’t be an issue?

Augie: No, you may not.

Vasquez: Yes ma’am.

Vyrrl: Ma’am I’m picking up a ship on a similar heading ahead

Augie: Really? Who else is heading to the back end of space?

Vyrrl: It’s the Archimedes.

Augie: Alexa? Haven’t talked to her in ages. Hail them.

Vyrrl: No need. They’re hailing us.

Augie: Well then, on screen.

Alexa: Augustine! How are you? It’s been far too long. Oh! You changed your hair, I love it! Like the new ship!

Augie: Yeah, finally got that upgrade. I thought you were out in the Beta quadrant

Alexa: Oh, we finished that a month ago. We were on the way home when everything went crazy

Augie: Yeah… that was an interesting time. Anyway, what are you doing way out here?

Alexa: We got orders to report to K-7 for a mission of some sort.

Augie: Odd. So did we.

Alexa: Couldn’t be a coincidence

Augie: Not bloody likely

Alexa: So, what kind of mission requires an explorer and a gun boat?

???: My curiosity is peaked as well

Augie: Where did that come from?

Vyrrl: Ma’am, ship decloaking above

Vasquez: Yellow alert! Ma’am, should we…?

Augie: Stand down. I recognize her voice. On screen. Split screen mode

Augie: Commander Chromia if I’m not mistaken.

Chromia: Forgive my dramatic entrance. It has been a boring trip and your conversation was quite interesting.

Augie:  I remember you from the trial.

Chromia: And I you captain. You said nothing, while your background manipulations were most impressive.

Augie: No one expects the loud ones to be sneaky

Alexa: May I ask why she’s here deep in federation space?

Chromia: I too have been ordered to K-7. We are to take part in whatever is happening.

Augie: Now I’m really curious.

Alexa: Especially since we picking up about half a dozen other ships on similar vectors. Our courses will intersect in eleven hours.

Augie: All of us heading to K-7

Chromia: In addition to ourselves there will be nine others

Alexa: How do you know that?

Chromia: My orders on what I need to do when we arrive.

Augie: Which is?

Chromia: That is for the leader of this operation, whoever they are, to reveal

Augie: Which, from your tone, is not you.

Chromia: Nor either of you it would seem. With that, I shall return to silent running. I have no desire to explain why I had to destroy one of your ships for shooting at me

Augie: You did say something odd

Chromia: I did?

Augie: Yes. You said nine others. But including us and not you, I count only eight warp signatures heading there

Alexa: Not quite. There are eight Federation warp signatures headed there. There’s a ninth one at extreme range approaching from the opposite direction.

Augie: Origin?

Alexa: Too far out to tell

Chromia: Now my curiosity is truly peaked
