Discovery 18

Hours later as the captains prepared to depart, they were requested to come on board the Los Lobos.

“They want us to come on board?” Sito asked

“In to the halls of madness?” Draigon commented

“I’ve heard the reports.” Admiral Chris observed “It’s an… interesting ship.”

“Things will be fine as long as no one says the word ‘Barbie’,” Ford explained “If that happens, then it’s every man or woman for themselves.”

Beaming over, the four were escorted to 10-forward where they found a group waiting for them.

“Before you left,” Heath explained. “I wanted to introduce you to our two newest crew members.”

She stood between the two Cherons with her hands on their shoulders.

“This is Lt. Arrana of our security department and Ensign Kielara of the research division.”

Those gathered there applauded their acknowledgement.

“Arran shares several… personality traits with our head of security and research allows Kielara to learn more about the rest of the galaxy.”

“Yep. That place called Risa sounds really interesting,” Kielara said

“Yes, it does,” Arrana agreed.

They completely failed to notice the nervous looks the captains gave each other.

“Still,” Arrana continued. “I cannot thank you enough. If there’s anything I can do…”

Before the others could say anything, Draigon spoke up

“Actually, there is one thing…”

“Yes?”

“I can have a look at those stasis pods of yours?”

They looked at him/

“Hey, its Cheron technology. When are we ever going to get a chance to examine some of it again?”

Arrana smiled.

“You may have to the pods. They represent our past. We… shall move forward.”

“Thank you.” He touched his combadge. “Wyvern, prep the research bays. I’m bringing back some priority tech to work on.”

“With that, we should be going,” Admiral Chris. “Again congratulations.”

“May the Prophets look after you on you journey,” Sito added,

“You’re in good hands with her,” Ford commented smiling. “If she can stay out of trouble.”

“I don’t look for trouble,” Heath answered. “It just finds me.”

They bid their farewells and left.

“All right ladies,” the two Cherons turned to face Heath as she spoke. “Time to go to work.”

They both smiled and replied;

 “Yes captain.”

This ends the Discovery backstory. Arrana and Kielara will be appearing in the main story from this point on.
