Once upon a time there was a fox who was wandering in a wood. His fur was colourless, just like every other fox. His name was Adrien, but most everyone else forgot he existed. His ribs showed through his fur and he rarely got anything to eat. He never raised his voice; in fact he spoke so rarely that some of the other foxes didn't even know what his voice sounded like. He was far too shy to catch anything and instead lived off of berries. Because of all this he lived on his own.
One day he heard a small squeak in the summer air and immediately pounced in the direction it came from. It was instinct, he couldn't help it. Under his paws was a little brown mouse. The mouse looked up at him.
