It's a Good Life, Lisa

This morning hojojitsu.deviantart.com/ brought up the Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life," and I did a doodle. I've done this particular episode before, mainly with Family Guy. I decided to do a different angle on it, where the kid is making up his own TV shows. And as long as Lisa here is content and happy, so what if there aren't any Olympics on TV? No Superbowl? When your kid can make it snow in June, it's best just to keep her happy. Montgomery Burns there found that lesson out the hard way, and so did Bart - Bart is usually sent out into the cornfield...he's learned to just walk out there by himself and wait it out a few hours. I guess here she decided to teach him a special lesson for the afternoon. Now, on with the program.

The Simpsons are the property of Matt Groening. "It's a Good Life" was written by Jeremy Bixby.

Kinda get me to wonder: what if Smithers got those powers, and got Burns to marry him, against his will?

It could happen that way. I have a doodle somewhere where Smithers turns into a giant.

So, looks like Lisa get the same godlike powers that Bart once had in THOH II. Interesting…;) (Wink)  Poor Homer and Marge: no one deserves such kind of tortures.:D (Big Grin)

Yeah, I'll have to pull that one out again; I know that he turned Homer into the jack-in-the-box.

I want a Montgomery Burns Jack in the Box.
It'll go nicely with my Zapp Brannigan Ray Gun!

What's cool is that my family brought me home a Planet Express ship model last night, which sits on a magnetic stand. Someone gave it to my brother-in-law and he didn't want it.

It's all in the timing. Here we are talking about Futurama and Simpsons fan art, and something like that happens.
Strange timing for me yesterday, too.
I don't know if this hit the news in your city, but yesterday some guy was climbing up the outside of
Trump Tower in NYC with those suction cup thingies.
When I went down to get my mail, I got a check in the mail for a bit of work I did for a friend's band.
His offices are in Trump Tower! LOL

Wow, that's fast. I just mentioned this yesterday. Great picture!

Lisa is the one you REALLY have to look out for. She's smart already and with tremendous power, she would be incredibly dangerous.

I actually worked quite a bit of today on it - it almost took too long. I have friends that are amazed at how fast I work - I took commercial art in college, and you had to be fast at what you did.

*Shudder* That episode creeped me out so bad as a kid. Again i'll say, Lisa with powers is a terrifying concept!

I think the horror end of it was played very well by those guys. A number of years back I got to chew the fat with writer Fred Pohl, who actually knew Rod Serling.

Brilliant adaptation. Don't forget there's a sequel.

Yeah, I saw the sequel. The only thing that sticks in my mind is that William Windom got to star in it.

Nothing but flying ponies on TV?  No Superbowl? (I don't give a rat's heiny about the Olympics)  AHHHHHH!  Still, this is a very funny take on a classic Twilight Zone episode.  And who better to be turned into a Jack-in-the-Box than Old Man Burns, especially now that he's nothing but a toy for Maggie's amusement.   Using the Simpsons in this scenario is both funny and very original.  Well done.      :) (Smile)

Thanks! I didn't think I was going to get anything out of this, as I've done this particular one several times before.

Yes, I remember your other versions with the Family Guy characters.  This new version with the Simpsons is very refreshing and offers the possibility of more scenes of mischief by Lisa.  BTW, I failed to mention Bart cooped in a birdcage.  This is a perfect punishment for the little goon.  Perhaps you can come up with a bizarre punishment for Homer by Lisa since he's always been a disappointment to her.

The punishment for Bart was changed almost at the last minute - he was going to be wrapped up in a spider's web up in the upper right corner of the page.

Hmmm, makes me wonder...what if this Lisa were to, say, cross paths with Bart from the THOH where he had the same powers? Two reality-warpers of equal power facing off would be quite an interesting sight to see....or maybe they'd just call a truce and take half the world each, it could go either way. xD

AT least Bart didn't get rid of electricity when he took over Springfield.

Hmmm...sort of like Van and the bad guy in Escaflowne - with all that great music. In my Green Glow stories they're definitely on the same team, but this is an interesting idea.
