Emerald by `guitarjohnny Suggester writes: "The detail in it is absolutely phenomenal, particularly around the eye, and the clarity is superb. The empty background of the shot is really effective, too, drawing the viewer's eye directly to the bird. To top it off, I think the composition is fabulous. Definitely one of the best bird portraits I've come across on here." ( Suggested by ILTBY and Featured by kkart )

 Wicked!.. i was looking to know more about it last week but i slashed it off my list since most of the experinced users said that its too heavy, has a lens creep, a slow focus & blurry focus and the casing is weak :p

So i decided to go for the Sigma 70-200 and add a 2x teleconvertor later on :B

:noes: Any ideas or suggestions?

the experienced users would also know that quality glass weights quit a bit :)
you will loose a lot of F stops on your sigma lens with a converter, and a lot of quality. I prefer the 70-200 L lens from Canon over the Sigma, but same story.. looses f stops and quality

hmm a used Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Super Telephoto Lens or save more and buy it new :)
the non prime lens Sigma AF 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG OS HSM
but both aren't light, the Canon is better quality. and I prefer my Canon over the Sigma as well.
for a lighter lens you could say a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
which has a stabilizer also ^^

Wow, that's a gorgeous eye. I never knew that birds could have that color of an eye. I've never heard of this bird, but it seems like a duck mixed with a kingfisher or something. :3 *favs*
