Genesis3 to Genesis8 morph converter 1.1 availableHello fellow artists,
the morph converter for Genesis3 to Genesis8 is available for purchase.
My tests show very good to absolutely exact morph accuracy.
I just updated the converter to version 1.1.
Sorry for the early update, but it was necessary to get good results with smaller and or bigger than average figures.
It was a bit tricky to compensate for the adjusted base pose, but I think I got it working pretty well.
You can find a test render here (mature content!):
Second test render that shows the new muscle flexing capabilities of Genesis 8:
You can buy it using DA points or through paypal. Please find all the details in this post:
Converting a Dress from V4 to G8F for dForceSo, vwrangler expressed curiosity as to whether the Rovescio dress for V4 might be able to be converted to G8F for dForce use. It sounded like an interesting challenge, and the dress is $2.99, so I thought I'd give it a try.
This will only work for rigged clothing. Dynamics will require a different workflow entirely and aren't very workable with current available options. I'm working on a product for that.
To go from Victoria 4 to Genesis 2 Female, I first set the dress to weight mapping using the edit--rigging option in the Scene Tab.
Then I dialed the V4 clone to 1.00 on Genesis 2 Female (making her the shape of V4). I used Transfer Utility and the "Current" option under "Source" instead of the usual clone/reverse shape from selected option. This avoided the "chunky hem" and crotch triangulation problems surprisingly well. There was some clipping in the hip area whe
[Tutorial] Convert Clothing G3 to G8, G8 to G3WARNING:
This will only work between these two figures or between their male counterparts. It will not work between any previous figures, or between these and previous figures.
Here's the YouTube video.
For this tutorial you need:
Genesis 3 Female from Daz3d.com.
Genesis 8 Female from Daz3d.com.
An item of clothing for one of them that you want to convert to the other one.
Scene Tab and Parameters Tab in Daz Studio 4.9+. If you lack a tab, you can add it using Window--Panes (Tabs) and clicking the one that you need.
THE CONTENT MANAGEMENT/SMART CONTENT HAS TO BE INSTALLED AND WORKING TO USE THIS METHOD. IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE COMPATIBILITY BASE IT IS NOT ON. CHECK THE BOTTOM OF THE SMART CONTENT TAB FOR A "START CMS" BUTTON. IN YOUR DAZ INSTALL MANAGER IT'S CALLED POSTGRES SQL CMS OR SO
[Tutorial] Transferring Character Morphs G1G2G3G8The first version of this workflow came from Kattey on the DAZ forum, for which I acknowledge credit.
Here is that (lengthy) thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/24093/
Here's another thread with a method that might be better on eye distortion, I haven't tried yet: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2539831/#Comment_2539831
Here's what I've been doing myself.
First of all, however: there are two ways to recreate a character. There is the easy way, which is not redistributable, and the hard way, which is. We'll discuss the easy way first. I'm sorry, but I can't do anything for those of you who absolutely can't learn from text. This is what I have time for right now.
PART 1: CREATE A SINGLE DIAL
Load Genesis 1. Dial in your character morph. There cannot be anything in the scene except the single figure while we do this. No hair, no clothes, no props. Or if they are there, you must hide them by c
