I switched from Android app development to C++, and back to Python. I went from computer stuff all the time to working out more, and filling gaps in my schedule with computer stuff. I'm also working on a couple new websites, and don't currently have any intention to revive or maintain guardfather.com.
I'm also only updating this journal because the old entry was no longer relevant, and it irritated me to see it on my profile page.

I've chosen to pursue Android development. This is now the greatest occupier of my free time. The duration of this new direction is indefinite.
The change to my site is meant to reflect this change of direction, until I make time to update it again. The site will still be simple, but its appearance will not be quite as hideous as the last version. (I hope)
So what will the focus be for the next version? Almost the same. However, I've chosen to abandon Ubuntu in favor of other Linux distributions. I'm also using Android much more than I used to. I intend to reflect that diversity with my website. Should I find mysel
New version of my site is up. Free software picks.
I've used guardfather.com for many purposes over the years. Now its function is to recommend free software and services to Windows and Ubuntu users.
The site is geared toward people who either aren't very experienced with PCs, or those who deal with the inexperienced and their questions. My goal is for the site to be a reference that computer geeks can point people to, rather than wasting so much of their time repeatedly explaining software choices to people. I don't know how many hours I've spent explaining these things to people over the years. This should be a significant time-saver for me, and hopefully some other "friendly neighborhood
