Why did someone or some group X-out the portraits?
A form of graffiti and rebellion?

I only know, that someone crossed portraits of these vampires, who were annihilated...strange thing.

Vamp annihilation, you don't say¿ Oh my! That is quite telling. A Grimm must be weeding out a hive, I'd say.

Thought I'd answer your question as the author who hopes to one day publish this :)

The top right is the hallway entrance to the Evan-Blood Coven.

Decades after being exiled, years after being thought dead, our main character, Christian Nikolai Dusk, is forced to return to the place where his story began - the Coven that once loved him, the Coven that once killed those he loved, the Coven that threatens to do the same again. As he walks down the row of portraits, as he sees his own with a red "X" slathered across it, he will need to make a decision: will he stand by and let those he loves die again? or will he fight  - one man and the secrets he's learned against the Coven he helped create?

Thank you! I haven't read the story (and have no idea when the author decides to publish it), but this was probably the most intriguing drawing from this story.

Five years later and I'm still working on it... ^^; one book has become four and since they are all tied together in the same realm, I find myself constantly having to revisit the others to make sure the story-line isn't flawed. I look at these every day on my cubicle wall along with the Colorized vampire hall and pandora's house. One day... hopefully by the end of next year these will finally be done. I just haven't been as motivated to write as I used to be...

Five years... really? Well, motivation comes and goes (and I feel that it goes quite often). But I really hope that you'll finish the books in the near future! It's great to know, that the story is being developed whole the time :)

How large is your paper? I cannot dream of having lines that fine on a standard sheet. It looks very good. I would like to learn from your technique.

These are three separate illustrations connected into one. The size of each paper is about 50x35cm, so the total size would be about 50x105cm.

What practice do you think helped you most in developing the skill to draw buildings?

I think that studying on faculty of architecture was crucial in my case. I learned a lot about designing buildings, their construction and history of architecture. When you know something very well, it's easier to draw it. But classes about geometry were also very important. They helped me to feel comfortable with various types of perspective.
