I love this picture!🥰 But I have some doubts about the windows. According to the architecture, it's not in Italy, but in some rather nothern country. So it's sometimes winter here, and a scriptorium with such huge windows and high celling can hardly be heated properly in winter. So you have to move all the books twice a year (to a warmer place and back), because neither can books be stored in an unheated room in winter, nor can the monks sit there for many hours a day. Besides in the summer book covers fade very quickly under direct sunlight and parchment dries out and loses its flexibility. So if I were the abbot, I would make the windows here at least three times smaller and move books to some darker room or use such curtains.
I apologise for the useless nerdiness🙇♀️ The drawing is very atmospheric and romantic!
