Red Applies Lie: Wet palm

I have been staring at this piece for a while, trying to decide exactly what to say about it.

First of all, the rendering of the apple is amazing. One of the reasons I spent so long gazing at it was trying to figure out if it was a photo.

The line art of the hand is very well done, too.

The contrast between the complete flatness of the hand and the detailed rendering of the apple is striking. It sets me up to expect a story about reality, or significance, or something along those lines.

I gave you a 2.5 on originality because the trick of using only red in a black and white image is pretty well established; the same can be said of that one red thing being an apple, or blood.

You've definitely gotten me wanting to know what "Where Red Apples Lie" is about, which is the job of a cover. I'd call this one a success.
