A view of the door and its controller. You'll see this setup echoed later in the story. This scene literally takes place moments before the story begins and the visitor arrives.

A short story (6 pages total) about a sentient security door. This is inspired by my work-in-progress story Interview with a lonely machine. It may or may not go into the full thing.

This comic is mainly an experiment with using a combination of Blender, Krita and Inkscape (all open source tools) to create comics. I just (after some six months of experimenting) got my first rigged original Blender character together from scratch and wanted to test using her in a project. I have had this little scene in mind for a while. I hope I convey the action properly despite it all happening from one perspective.

Work process here is rendering of the character / scene in Blender (using cycles rendering engine). Then post processing in Krita (mainly to add scanlines and some minor tweaks), before final compositing and lettering in Inkscape. All the "HUD elements" where also done in Inkscape. Worked very smoothly overall.

Feedback and critique is much appreciated; still learning here, particularly with the 3D stuff!
