Somewhere at a table by greytrousers Somewhere at a table by greytrousers
Somewhere at a table
Two drowned fools
Smoking
Drinking water as they talked
Of how they loved our lady
And oh the smell as candles die
(The Cure - Lament)

This was an assignment in my drawing class in which we had to choose any subject with these rules: it must be a triptych, may be any size, must use graphite and any other media, must include a rubbing and an animal. I chose to do mine with a scene from a fairly bizarre dream of mine. This dream consisted mainly of me observing two stoned people in a corner staring at a crow, a closed door, and a floating woman. The rest of this drawing was added for a more surreal effect and the figures were drawn from reference pictures found from gettyimages.com.

cardboard + gesso + graphite + mylon (sp?) transperancy

the thematics are incredibly focused, i'm really glad this exists. chaotic, maybe, but more likely substantial. the use of uncentered detail on the floating woman and the seat works really well.

That's all exactly what I was going for ;) I'm glad you agree that it may be chaotic, but I suppose that's what makes it? My best drawing so far; thanks!

Very cool! I love the outlined bird- he looks like a pest, and I bet he never shuts up. I like the floating woman too, and the awsome lines on the chair... love seat?
