Done over christmas break, wasn't sure if I was going to upload it but Albert Hofmann died today and this drawing certainly owes him a debt of gratitude so here it is.
It's about several things at once: a small tribute to the place that has felt the most like home for the past decade or so to me, a not-subtle-enough take on the fall-out from my last relationship, and the beginning of what I'm hoping will be the next big project I try to get done. Hope you guys like it (come on, full-view it! I'm not so happy with the smaller size for this one...)

I'm not entirely sure I catch your drift but, personally I feel that, with a lot of reservations regarding their potential for abuse, some hallucinogenic substances have an aesthetic side of extraordinary beauty and meaning in strictly visual terms. They're not for everybody and I wouldn't even condone them as a valid tool for creative output, but in this particular case some psychedelic elements crept up in the drawing that are, at least to me, unmistakable as to their origin.
As for self discovery and breaking down inner barriers I'm sure a lot of trippers experience them often but this particular drawing has nothing to do with those things. It's about a private place, and the conflict arising form having to choose between your expectations and those of another.

I guess I was just thinking that since he was an addvocate of using drugs (LSD) as a way of helping one break down some denails in the mind that many of us have in the way of the "truth" of our mental state, so that we may better help or understand our selves.
And relating that to your picture in not nessesarly a sense of a drug induced mental vision, but in the sense that this is a representation of your minds state expressed or understood through an imaginitive process similar to that of a drug induced one....
Damn Im finding it hard to say exactly what Im thinking today, I hope that just made sense.
I guess I'd like to understand better as to why you feel this picture owes Albert Hoffman a debt of gratitude.
Just out nothing more than curiousity..
P.S. sorry to be so long winded.

I guess I'm not explaining myself too clearly either. The visual aspect to some of the elements -the tree most notably- was very much influenced by a trip I had a week before actually getting started on this picture. The Hofmann link is mostly a visual thing, not a conceptual one.
And don't worry, I like lengthy discussions a lot more than quick one liners...
