Description
A parody novel cover with which to disturb your childhood, inspired by one of the songs off the latest album by The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets -- you can easily guess which...I had an earworm for DAYS -- and the obvious classic early-teen book that juxtaposed with the former in my head...
I spent a long time trying to match the fonts with the book the design was based on. Got pretty close, but I eventually had to hand-paint the title font. At first I was going to try and match the washed-out pencil style of the source design's cover image, but, well, dark, bleak shadows are apparently my thing; I might give it a crack again in the future, just for (more) kicks, but I think it came together pretty well.
