Strangely, it wasn't actually that cold. But the cross is an interesting thing. Those "reconciliation crosses" were a form of community justice in late medieval and early modern times in central Europe. This one was erected to forgive the sin of two sherpherds killing each other on that spot 500 years ago.
It says a lot about 2020 that my first thought upon seeing this 2017 artwork was "this space ship looks like a syringe".
