6) Purple Tentacle (Maniac Mansion + Day of the Tentacle)
Seriously, if you've never played either of those games, you are deprived. Purple Tentacle started off as a pet to the Edison family in Maniac Mansion, guarding the house with his more amiable brother Green Tentacle. After the events of Maniac Mansion he starts drinking toxic waste out of Dr. Fred's Sludge-O-Matic and mutates into an insane evil genius...really all that happens is he grows nubby arms. Then he goes on a rash of cow-tipping that somehow leads to him taking over the world. He's awesome.

I remember that game. It reminded me a lot of Monkey Island and Sam&Max.
