So...by this point last year, we were only a few short days from the deaths of both David Bowie and Alan Rickman. From that point on, the year decided to do everything it could to make us wonder if the world was nearing some sort of apocalypse. And really, who can say we aren't. But, even as we near the one-year anniversaries of these two deaths, perhaps we can hope that 2017 will step into the crater-sized shoes that last year left, hoping to take us in a much better direction. However, I have no proof of this, but that is perhaps why Hope can be such a powerful, all-consuming thing. And why it was considered the worst of all the evils to escape Pandora's Box...But no! I shall see Hope as a positive thing! I shall! Yep! Positive! (Wash, rinse, repeat)
As an update on me: I am getting ready to start my second semester of graduate school, which is partially why my stories have appeared neglected. I managed to read two books over the holidays (and I'm hoping to finish a third before Monday, when classes actually begin), and this is something which makes me incredibly happy. I'd forgotten how much I miss reading for fun. I should have known better. Ah well. We do tend to forget things the more time passes.
Another IRL thing going on right now is a big change at work. I work for an academic library, which shared space for some time with a local public library. Before Christmas, this other group moved out, which has meant moving books and office spaces from one floor to another. We will be opening again for students next week, although we will still be quite a bit disorganized for several weeks.
With all that said, I do have ideas for my most recent OaD arc, which I have dubbed the Mad Queen arc, and I hope to post more soon. Modern Miko
is also now plotted out quite a ways, but the chapters need to be written. The Little Priestess
(my mixing of 'Inuyasha' and 'The Little Mermaid' in an original AU world) is also planned out and written, but needs to be edited before I can post the next several sections.
