Senshicon was a lot of fun this year. It was different being at the Egan Center for it. The atmosphere was definitely a total change. I feel like I didn't get to see a lot of cosplayers, and I'm kind of bummed out about it. Not sure if it was the layout of the area or what it was, but I've been seeing pictures of a lot of people I missed out on seeing. I did see a LOT of fantastic costumes though! If anyone would like to see pictures, here are links to my photo albums --->Day 1
& Day 2
So...this upcoming year...I'm totally switching my focus on the kind of costumes I'll be doing. I've been wanting to attempt to make some props for a long time now, and this year I'm going to do it. So far I have on my list 2 vault suits (because I just love Fallout so much, I can't leave it out again this year
) I'm doing Vault 11 vault suit, but making a few modifications to it. It'll have some differences from the in game suits. Vault 11 has one of my favorite tragic vault stories in New Vegas, so I thought I'd pick that number. I'm also in the process of making a practice vault suit...and I'm making Vault 49. I know there is no Vault 49 in the games, I decided I wanted to make an Alaskan "winterized" vault suit. I think it will be a lot of fun. I plan on attempting to make either a plasma rifle or a proton axe with these two costumes. I might bring one or both to Dragon Con, not sure yet...well definitely one of them.
I need to finish my Juliet Starling (Lollipop Chainsaw) costume this year. Ran out of funds to finish the Chainsaw, and I still need to put the logo on the top. Other than that and the chainsaw, it's done.
I would LOVE to finish my Yoko (Gurren Lagaan) costume FINALLY, since it's been 2 years in the making. I had wanted to make her sniper rifle to go with it, but I'm still not sure if I'm completely comfortable wearing her outfit. We'll see.
Jinx from League of Legends is on my list, because League of Legends is a lot of fun, and Jinx looks like such a crazy character. Plus it helps that she has two interesting looking weapons. Props, yay!
I plan on finishing my genderbend Nathan Drake costume at some point in the next year (or two? Who knows)...I really want to try working with leather, and the shoulder holster looks like it would be interesting to make. Plus I need an "easy" costume to wear at Dragon Con. It was so nice last year having something quick to change into at night.
I know I had more on my list but I'll be damned if I can think of what they were, haha.
Hope everyone is having a great year! I can't believe it's so close to being over.
