Shiro’s bayard can also turn into the wings, and act as a second, wider shield than the one that’s already in the armor.

Also, I think he can use the wings as a paraglider too!

I need your help guys, I’m 98% sure I got the idea of the bayard turning into the wings from one of BossToaster’s fanfics, but I read all her works in AO3 in like 3 weeks and now I’m unable to pinpoint which scene happens in which work. I think it’s part of their series “Don’t, let’s start” but I can’t be sure.
