Notes:
The first remains of Sauroposeidon, four neck vertebrae, were first discovered in 1994 and were originally thought to simply be far too large to belong to any animal and were filed away as fossilized tree trunks. It wasn't until the fossils were reexamined in 1999 were they recognized to be the fossilized neck bones of perhaps the tallest living creature to ever live.
