Warm Bodies by GreekCeltic Warm Bodies by GreekCeltic
Someone asked how the crops in the Cat’s Way grow without sunlight. I had never thought about it before.

My answer is because the strays sleep between the stalks and keep the plant warm. Does it make a lick of sense? No, but that’s why I like it. I love nonsensical mythology.

This... is adorably nonsense and I love it
Question,
Since the Cat's Way is kind of the afterlife for cats,
Is this in fact why cat's in life then spend so much time sleeping in sunbeams?
They have to absorb all the sun's warmth in life to help give it back in the afterlife!

I read somewhere about an egyptian belief that cats carried the sun in their eyes overnight- but no one ever sources it and an Egyptologist had no idea what I was talking about, so I don't know where that belief actually originates.
That said, we were talking yesterday about the cats carrying the sun in their fur.

The only thing that stops me is I already have a cat that keeps the sun. His name is First Light (Fil, for short).

So I'm still tossing that idea around!

I think in the afterlife the lack of sunlight is just seen as a sacrifice for the next generations, since it's believed that the sun is always up in Su's field. Like, 'hey, kittens, we love you this much.'
