Note: I did not draw this. It was probably done by Mika Akitaka (or perhaps someone else, I'm not certain). I just scanned it from a Gundam artbook, tweaked it just a bit in Photoshop, and colored it.

Here's another rough design for an MS which didn't make it into the Gundam ZZ anime. I made up the serial number and name. It looks like an old Zeon Mobile Suit (probably an MS-06Z) which was modified, kludged, and jury-rigged in an attempt to recreate the Zeong. Quite a clunker! I think it's charming in its ugliness.

Obviously, I don't own Gundam. All rights belong to Bandai and Sunrise and Yoshiyuki Tomino and "Hajime Yadate," etc. No infringement intended nor implied, etc etc.

I wonder if this one would eventually lead to the design for the Kikeroga in G Generation...

You know, that's a good point. It really does look like an evolutionary missing link for the "MSN-01"... Good call.
Glad you are posting again after a far too loong absence. One question... Are you planing to color/photoshop any of the spacecraft from the Gundam universes by any chance?

Wasn't planning on it... What did you have in mind?
Didn't mean for this to become a request. But, since you asked...
Rarely, there's fan art for of the capital ships of Gundam. The Moblie Suit carriers and cruisers being examples. Very rarely we see any of the cargo and people carriers of that franchise. The cast has to eat, and to get from point A to point B somehow.
Anyway, the ship that has the most screen time and the most well known out of this lot, is that bread boxed shaped supply ship, the Columbus class.  (I think that might be it's name, but I could be wrong.):) (Smile)

So you're wondering about artwork of the Columbus, eh? I'll see if I can come up with anything.

This would've made a great final boss in ZZ instead of what we got in the final product.

Perhaps, although I like to imagine that this thing would be a sad underperformer. Like, a bunch of OYW Zeon fanboys wanted to recreate the Zeong but just couldn't. Unlike the ZM-GE-03 Zong.

XD They're just butthurt because the news of a dangerous mobile suit piloted by an angry teenager humiliated them. XD Poor suckers. I bet these were the same idiots who made the incomplete Zeon Gundam/Zeong. If Zeong was completed with legs and a sword,oh god...0_0

Perfect Zeong Plus!

Completed with big ass sword.

This is definitely a Kika Akitaka design, it is a Madox MS!  Or the couch potato cousin of a xekueins.

LOL! I like your characterization of it. Buuuuuut IIRC Shinji Aramaki designed the Madox-01, right? Or am I missing a joke?
Zeonista's avatar
It is funny to me mainly because Mika Akitaka has crossed paths with Shinji Aramaki back in the day. I think the same 20 guys worked on half the good mecha anime back then. :)

Oh definitely... It's still sorta like that, though video games have expanded the field some.
