I will murder you slowly
Extricate your heart out by its vines
Root by root
Down, out of your ribcage
Into the freezing air.
Pluck out your eyelashes
Until your eyeballs are naked and staring,
Watching me eviscerate your body.
Your lungs will collapse, dear
And your last dusty breath
Will beg me
I've twisted your every word
Your every hope of salvation
Into my fishbowl locked under my bed
And you, drooling
Followed and nodded along
The leash around your neck
I wove of spider's web
As a noose, to tighten
Whenever you look upward.
you're waiting patiently
Holding out your hand
For a ring that will never come
Until my cancer fills your body
And you are gasping on the floor
And, lest you forget
In case you start to accuse me
I am the swiftest poet you ever let
Eat like an earthworm into your heart.
I will pluck you like the strings of my guitar,
Play you like the saddest violin,
And drink you down
To shit you into the stream.
