Ghost Child

Veridical foaled late at night, approx. 11:00pm. Bay minimal splash filly; RF sock, LF short stocking, RH stocking, LH high stocking; white face with lip spot; blue eyes. No foaling complications.

And under a full moon, too. Filly was on the ground and wobbling on her feet almost before we had time to think. Independent spirit, and would you look at her. Within three hours of her birth, four people said, and I quote, "My God, Cal, have a prettier baby." I must be rubbing off on them.

There's only so much background painting I can do without resorting to HARPG ponies for comfort. Wanted this one to be a truly gorgeous little girl; it took a while before the sketch was up to par. Lots of smoothing out and lengthening.
