Soooo up here in NorCal we've been having one hell of a wildfire problem and the bad news is, we may need to evacuate and if we do, I don't know how long it'll be until I'm back online. Never fear though, my computer takes top priority so Starlight and all my other projects will continue even if my apartment burns down while I'm gone.
I doubt we'll have to though, since they're actually evacuating people from up in the surrounding mountains into our town limits and the disaster team's great about evacuating people well in advance. But in the super-ultra-mega-minescule chance our town's threatened and we will have to evacuate, just know I'm in good hands, but I don't know how long I'll be without internet. But that's not important. What's most important is I'm safe, my friends and family are safe, and all essential assets for the future of my IP and other projects are secure. Hey, at least we're not Colonial Marines holed up on LV-426, right? That'd be game over, man (RIP Bill Paxton.)
Thankfully if I am down in the city for extended periods until it's safe to come back up here, I'm sure I could pick up a USB wi-fi dongle from a Best Buy or something and connect to my grandma's internet while we're down in safety.
And boy, I sure do hope my town won't end up looking like somewhere out of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. But if it does, what does matter is we're safe. I'm praying to the pagan storm gods to assist in putting out the fire, and keeping all the firefighters, first responders and less-fortunate people from the surrounding mountains in my thoughts.
Because remember, the Emperor protects.
