For the 5th challenge of Project Runway for :iconcatwalkchallenge:, the goal was to design two different business wear outfits for Marie Claire, using your "team"'s color palette.

My color palette: navy, bright blue, smokey grey, white, black.

:bulletred: About the design... :bulletred:

For my two designs, I used all the colors except for the black, because I figured that most of the rest of the "team" would gravitate towards that.

Left: The blouse is smoky grey with bright blue pleats to liven it up and tie it into the bottom. As for the skirt, I put a twist on the classic work silhouette with a fishtail pencil skirt with a military-esque waist.

Right: For the second look, I wanted to do something very different from the first, so I went with a smart jacket. The top is navy, and the mid-to-bottom is bright blue (I tried to stick with similar textures and fabric that the team did on the show with this). The skirt is simple so that it doesn't distract from the attention of the jacket. (By the way, those weird lines on the skirt are just stray marks from my markers, not an actual part of the design - I'll edit them out eventually.)

:bulletred: Styling and Accessories :bulletred:

The styling would be very clean and minimal, since it is business wear, so I went with natural makeups and a simple ponytail. As for the accessories, I also kept it minimal because lots of them can be distracting and inappropriate in a work space. I specifically avoided peep-toe shoes, because they're a big no-no for work.

Accessories are from Lord & Taylor.
