Jym Piikens was a trooper within the renowned 501st legion for much of the Empire's reign. He was fierce, strong, and loyal. Eventually though, his age caught up with him and he was no longer able to fight on the front lines. He was offered a job as a prison warden on the planet Simolea. He hated this job, until Palpatine died. After Malik took over the system, Piikens swore loyalty to him and became a favorite of Malik's early on. Piikens was allowed to make whatever reforms he wanted to this prison. It quickly became one of the most effective prisons in the Verum Imperium. The prison was attacked by the pirate crew of Haro Olphen, but thanks in part to the actions of Commander Shard, the attack failed. After this attempted attack failed, Shard and Admiral Pyadar chased the pirate forces back to Iryotu, which he managed to capture.
