Overview of Ideon Baize

This is a timeline overview of Ideon Baize, a fictional character within my Imperial Remnant.

Born 59 BBY on the planet Ineptia, in the Montag Star system, then a Republic member system. His father, Emon Baize was a Colonel in the Ineptian Defense Force, and always had hoped that his son would follow in his footsteps.

43 BBY - At just 16, he joins the Ineptian Defense Force and works as a guard for Senator Carto Malava, getting his first tastes of the political world. He would rise through the ranks on Ineptia, eventually becoming one of only five representatives within the Ineptian Congress at the age of just 22.

22 BBY - After 15 years of service as a representative, The Clone Wars break out. Although Ineptia never sees frontline combat, much of the planet's industry begins to produce for the war. Baize leaves his home planet to enlist in the Republic Military Officers academy at age 37, graduating and ultimately becoming a Captain for the remainder of the war.

1 BBY - After the war, and the Declaration of The Empire, Baize stayed in its service, gaining promotions and accolades. Ultimately, at age 58, he was named Governor of Ineptia, a position that solidified him power while allowing him to return to his home planet. He would stay here for the entirety of the Galactic Civil War. Sometime during that time, he met Admiral Gaius Malik, an ambitious young man. The two got along well during their brief encounters, developing a mutual respect for each other.

4 ABY - Baize hears the news of Palpatine's death from Gaius Malik, now part of an Empire in disarray. The two agree to rendezvous on Ineptia, where Malik, along with Baize and several of his other inner circle members devise a plan to keep the Empire alive. They draft a new Decree, along with many other changes that result in the birth of The Verum Imperium, a remnant that believes itself to be the true successor. Malik takes on the surname Palpatine, becoming Emperor Palpatine II, or Malik Palpatine. Although setting up the new governance is difficult, they manage to do it thanks to the numerous Clone Wars-Era factories present in the system. Baize is appointed to the role of Overseer, a government official who monitors and commands many of the day-to-day workings of the system, as well as acting as de-facto leader during times when Malik is away.

16 ABY - After months of suffering to an unknown disease, Malik Palpatine dies. The remnant is briefly thrown into turmoil, with small skirmishes, as Baize declines the accension to the position of Emperor, although he plays a major role in keeping political stability. Now a man aged 75, he takes a reduced role, opening the door to problems. Over the course of the next 2 years, 4 different men serve as Emperor. The first two, who served for 10 months, and 3 months respectively, pass away from health issues. The third, who serves for 6 months, is killed in a coup, and the last of the short-lived 4 serves a 4 month term, before choosing to step down. Finally, Baize accepts the position of Emperor.

20 ABY - Baize, now aged 81, surrenders the remnant to the New Republic. After 4 years as emperor, the system's dwindling resources are taking a toll, and many of the planets are falling into shambles. Baize uses his last decree as Emperor to dissolve the state, having already contacted the New Republic earlier. The NR takes control of the system, helping build it back up to it's former state. Baize is offered the position of Senator for Ineptia, but he declines, choosing to give it to his son instead. After a brief month long retirement, he joins the New Republic Navy, attaining the positon of Colonel, and staying stationed on his home planet. He stays in the Navy for 2 years, and then finally, another 5 years later, 27 ABY, at the age of 88, Baize dies.
