Magistrate Aran Keelt's Remnant

Aran Keelt had dutifully served the Empire for decades, and upon hearing of the tragic death of it's Emperor, he refused to let such a great faction die, establishing his own remnant, albeit a small one, with very little real power. Keelt had always been fascinated with royalty, having grown up on Naboo, and spending most of his Imperial career near the planet "Trual 5," another planet similar to Naboo with a well established monarchy prior to the arrival of the Empire. Keelt took the opportunity, seizing the long vacant palace and declaring himself "Magistrate." Keelt spent more time looking good than actually maintaining control, a factor partially influenced by the relatively low strength of his remnant. Stormtroopers were rare, the majority being used as Royal Guards for himself and his palace, as well as his governmental headquarters.

Keelt operated as an absolute monarch, although administered few decisions himself. He had a small inner circle who controlled most aspects of day to day life, including the most powerful people, the Royal Police. Established as a way to keep the people in line, the Royal Police quickly became the most powerful branch of the remnant, serving the duties of both regular police, as well as the ISB. Police soldiers were a common sight in heavily populated areas, and true justice was uncommon, with the police acting almost as an unchecked Gestapo. As such, a fairly large criminal underworld ran rampant, with protests also being a somewhat frequent sight.
