The Land of Oz was large, and although surrounded by impassable deserts on all sides, it still maintained an army to keep it safe from invaders, as well as the Wicked Witches that terrorized Oz. The Guard valiantly obey the word of The Great and Terrible Wizard, although few have ever seen him.
