Second in my series of musical instrument, this one took FOREVER! anyways, the chrome was crazy hard, but i think it came out looking great, Fullview for the intricate detales in the chrome...

not sure what instrument to tackle next, im wanting to do classical instruments, i might try trumpet or trombone next, definately going to stay away from the saxaphone after this experience though lol...

Excellent work ^.^
I love it.
I can't wait for the saxaphone one to come out.
You could consider a violin, or perhaps a percussion piece?

violin is allready done, look in my gallery

The mouthpiece seems a little too long, and the ligature is on slanted, but other than that, very good job. I'm a clarinet player, myself, and I've tried drawing them before for various assignments, but I've never had the patience to go into the details of the keys like you have here. Bravo!

thanks for the input, im not a clarinet player... what exactly is a ligature?

It's the piece of metal (usually, I personally don't use metal ligatures) that wraps around the mouthpiece, holding the reed on. The two screws should be on the side of the clarinet sticking out, but on this piece, it looks as if they're more in the back, where the reed is. Whoever tried to play that would be poked in the chin by it. ;)

Ligature, Dave, It's the shiny bit at the top that holds on the reed.

thanks, took a lot of time.. 4-5 hours to get the chrome looking right with shadows coming from the right directions

I can imagine, I had to draw it once for art - and that was hard enough!
