DS 38 - TMNT

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was MY show. My brother had Transformers, He-Man and GI-Joe, I had the Turtles. I remember as a kid Idolizing the turtles, my favorite stuffed animal was Michealangelo, my favorite color was green, and I owned the Turtle-van. I even had the ooze-factory playset with the super gooey ooze that only worked once and made your turtles sticky for the rest of their known lives.

It hurts me to watch the new shows, you knwo the ones, the anime-turtles. The movie was horrible as well. I realize the the teenage mutant ninja turtles was never piece of television gold, but it is a vital bit of my childhood… now stop ruining it. I would rather you kill the turtles and come up with some NEW ideas for kid’s programming…

As an aside, I apologize for the use of inking in this comic, I realize it deviates from my style, but I really was having a hard time getting them to look right without them…

What about the original comics? They're a lot darker, because they were parodies of dark comics in the 80s.

"Turtles in a half-shell, TURTLE POWER!"

Loved the old show. Mom never really allowed me to watch it, but I did anyway. Loved, loved, LOVED it. All the characters were great, including the villains. I personally don't like the new stuff, though. My sister does, but I'm just not a big fan of it. I can still watch the older version and the movies. (TMNT sucked, though. It left me wondering what the people were on while writing the script.)

TMNT is one of the only shows I remember being an actual "fan" of as a kid. I don't mind the new stuff though. The new movie was a little weak, but I think it was a step in the right direction for revamping the franchise.

Shredder looks good in a baseball hat.

i'd have to disagree with you about the movie and the new shows, its just taking one of childhood shows and turning it into an anime, and I'd have to say I dont appreciate it.

It's really just a matter of taste I guess. I don't mind the anime style -- I'm not a big fan, but I think it looks fine. The story lines (of at least the first season) are pretty much the same as the originals. I think I've seen the shredder story presented at least three or four different ways now. I'm glad the CG movie was an original story.
