[Canora] - Wrathe by Gothamed [Canora] - Wrathe by Gothamed
Edit;; Oh my gosh, I actually won overall -- NOW I AM GONNA DRAW YOU EVERYWHERE. +A+

;v; I've literally had this idea since Misty showed me this species, oml.

I've had this guy done for a couple of days but have been sitting on the design, just in case. Regardless, I'm actually REALLY happy with this turn out minus the fact I can't draw feathers for shit. Oops.

Fair warning, I am not a writer.

  • Living in the dense swamp, Wrathe has mastered the art of vanishing into murk and slime. Wearing his shaman-like appearance as a typical intimidation method to keep smaller swamp beasts from invading his collection of smooth stones, bent bottlecaps, and disgarded things forever lost in the marsh.
  • Wrathe is an avid, happy swamp dweller. He prefers the overhang of shrubbery against the murk of stagnant water to the joys of caves or forested-burrows. Wasting nothing as he keeps both the small bits of bone left from meals, bottlecaps dropped in by birds, and even feathers from various swamp-dwelling cranes.
  • Living in the thick of the swamp, amongst cypress trees and cattails, Wrathe finds he has far more of an advantage with his longer body and expirience with wandering the sludge. His colors allowing him to seemingly vanish beneath the thick green waters to return to overhanging banks just above the waters.
  • Despite his seemingly permanent face of bemuse, there isn't much hostility toward other Canora from him, even if he honestly sees so few of them lurking in his neck of the woods.
  •  As far as he can remember, he's always been in the same swamp, never showing much interest nor real drive to leave. There seems to be enough to hold him over there, and with such... he's happy where he is. During the colder months of the year, he may travel just far enough into the brush to keep off the chill of wave-kissed wind, but this is also decently rare.
  • Much like a tree-dwelling lizard, Wrathe's tail seems to constantly stay in a 'coiled' look when he's simply idling around. This is much more of a quirk than a habit, as he seems to coil it tighter when focusing on something. Or just picking out shiny bottlecaps or whatnots dropped in by other creatures.
  • Somehow, he seems to be fairly good with getting feathers to stick together, these feathers being the ones he wears like a cape. Of course, upon further investigation, it's easy to know this 'somehow' is more a mix of mud and swamp-muck. Not the most fragrant substance.
  • Wrathe isn't very agile, nor aerodynamic due to his abnormally long body. This doesn't, however, seem to alter his swamp-stalking habits anymore than occaisionally running into himself. (Which he would never own up to, after all.)
  • Swimming is something that comes surprisingly easy to him, moreso with how shallow most swamp water is. Regardless, Wrathe is quite terrified of the Budgett's frogs that lurk amongst the swamp. Normal frogs are fine, he doesn't seem affected by them, however the mind-boggingly disproportionate screaming creatures are something of pure nightmare fuel for this slinky-Canora.
  • Like any semi-intellegent creature living in the swamp, there's always those deep underlying fears of swamp monsters. With such, if it's an alligator or one of their snappy-kin, Wrathe will quite literally trip over himself to make as much distance as possible. Murkwater monsters might be scary, but gators have actual teeth, and with such, that's a whole lotta territory Wrathe just isn't stupid enough to cross.

With the natural gases of the swamp, it's not much of a guess that Wrathe doesn't fire on all cylinders, in fact, he's QUITE paranoid. Not out of his mind, but definitely quite watchful of the waters. Besides this, he's otherwise docile, choosing to be just a bit more welcoming to other Canora than nessecary. But when put to the options of lurking close to home, or travelling with a pack, there's no real motivation for him to leave what he knows. Wrathe appears very blank-muzzled most of the time, despite how easy going he is on top of the clear fear that SOMETHING is in that water. SOMEWHERE. Waiting. WATCHING. Regardless, trait words for Wrathe would include: paranoid, observant, obnoxiously curious, borderline clutz, and compulsive shiny-collector.
