HELP!
I need suggestions for something to design as part of an update for my portfolio. Any ideas? Creatures, aliens, characters (characters in situations), objects or even locations. Throw some ideas at me and I'll see if I can draw it.
Thanks!

We always see people design spaceships in sci-fi, but I think we very rarely see ground transportation. Perhaps something like that.

Well, I would have some established characters to show your ability to capture the look (Especially if you are applying to a specific property owning company), some original ones showing your design abilities and some background works. But what do I know. I believe in you Rich :)

Original characters I've got and some that I designed for some TV shows. I might try drawing a few from other properties, though. Thanks!

Oh for sure, i know you have a bunch. Different genres and times... just to show versatility and design sense of fashion and or accessories. Hope that gives you some ideas

(1) Chesire cat aliens both attacking earth / blending in with humans / interacting with humans like in THEY LIVE.
(2) Multiple Christmas cards with main characters from each of the primary locations in your comic.
(3) Jewellery - still life, maybe some of the pieces that were in that collection from Dresden.

Ohhh! Nice! Thank you! I'll get on that.

1) Do you mean aliens that look like the Cheshire cat? Or aliens who fade in and out like the Cheshire cat?

2) I can do that.

3) This one I've done on my portfolio. It was part of a dissertation for a PhD that I illustrated, some artifacts that I drew from real life and photos.

My portfolio is here: yafgcrich.artstation.com/

Both - aliens that look like Cheshire cats, and can fade in and out. Gives you more to do with that . :)

Ruins of Uxmal in Mexico ? Despite it's age a lot of the architectural features have survived nicely. There seem to be plenty of photos online, but I have been and can look at my photos too to see if I spot anything I don't see online.

Interior of a one of those fancy see through watches that you wind up.

Why not have characters, from your various historical/fantasy comics, touring city/national monuments (Eiffel Tower, Space Needle, CN Tower, etc), in the modern day?

That's a thought. I might give that one a try. It's perhaps a little less 'designy' than I'm looking for, but it's certainly a challenge.

The Christmas card suggestion, gave me another idea. I know that several of your characters (at least YAFGC) are inspired by real life people (at least the game personas of friends). You could have those characters posing, photograph style (or selfie style, if you incorporate my original idea), with their real life counterparts.
